Refund policy
1) Quality Standards
We maintain high quality standards and inspect each piece before shipment. Minor variations in handcrafted items are normal and not considered defects. Each authentic Amikyo® piece includes specific tags and packaging—items without these elements cannot be guaranteed authentic.
2) Authentication & Counterfeits
Authentic Products
All products sold through official Amikyo® channels include specific authenticity elements. We are not responsible for authenticating products purchased through unauthorized retailers or second‑hand markets.
Counterfeit Policy
Amikyo® actively protects its intellectual property. Purchase or possession of counterfeit items may result in legal action and does not qualify for any customer service support.
3) Shipping & Delivery
3.1 Address Accuracy
Please ensure your shipping address is complete and accurate. Amikyo cannot change address information once an order has been placed and is not responsible for packages delivered to incorrect addresses provided by the customer, or delays caused by incomplete address information.
3.2 Processing Time
Orders are inspected and prepared within 1–3 business days before dispatch. During high‑volume periods, limited releases, or holidays, processing may extend to 3–7 business days.
3.3 Shipping Rates & Timeframes
- Australia
- Standard: FREE ( 2–7 business days )
- Express: $12 AUD ( 1–3 business days )
- International
- Standard: FREE ( 10–15 business days )
- Express: $25 AUD ( 5–10 business days )
Delivery times are estimates only and may vary due to customs processing, weather, or other circumstances beyond our control.
3.4 Priority Global Fulfillment
If an item is out of stock in your local warehouse, Amikyo offers Priority Global Fulfillment for a flat $30 AUD fee. This allows us to source your item from an overseas warehouse and ship internationally. Delivery times vary by region and carrier.
3.5 Customs & Duties
International customers are solely responsible for all customs duties, taxes, brokerage fees, and other charges imposed by the destination country. Amikyo has no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount. Packages may be delayed or returned due to customs issues.
No refunds are issued for customs‑related charges or delays.
Customers in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom generally do not incur customs fees as we have warehouses in these countries.
3.6 Undeliverable Packages
Packages returned to us due to incorrect addresses, refused delivery, unclaimed packages, or customs issues will incur re‑shipping fees equal to the original shipping cost plus handling fees.
3.7 Risk of Loss
Risk of loss and title to products pass to you upon delivery to the carrier. We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged packages once tracking shows delivered to the provided address.
4) Order Changes & Cancellation Policy
4.1 4‑Hour Change Window (Post‑Checkout)
- Within 4 hours of checkout: You may request address changes, size changes, shipping method changes, or cancellation.
- After 4 hours: Orders are released to the warehouse and cannot be changed or cancelled.
4.2 Pre‑Orders
Pre‑orders cannot be cancelled once payment is processed (except for verified manufacturing defects upon delivery).
4.3 Courier‑Declared Loss Exception
If the courier formally deems a parcel lost, Amikyo will offer a refund or replacement (subject to stock availability).
4.4 Payment Disputes (Chargebacks)
If a chargeback is open, Amikyo will not issue refunds or take action on the order until the dispute is withdrawn/resolved to prevent double refunds.
5) Refund Policy (Returns & Exchanges)
5.1 Eligible for Full Refunds
We accept returns for:
- Manufacturing defects with clear quality control failures
- Incorrect items sent in error
- Items damaged in transit
5.2 Not Eligible for Full Refunds
The following do not qualify for full refunds:
- Incorrect sizing, fit preferences, or buyer’s remorse
- Items worn, washed, altered, or damaged by customer use
- Items without original tags, packaging, or authenticity elements
- Items purchased during promotional sales, sample sales, or marked “Final Sale”
- Pre‑orders (except manufacturing defects upon delivery)
- Damage due to improper care, normal wear, or failure to follow care instructions
- Color transfer/bleeding (characteristic of raw Japanese fabrics, including raw denim)
5.3 Return Process & Timeframes (Defects / Incorrect Items)
- Contact customer service within 7 days of delivery.
- Provide order number, clear photos, and a description of the issue.
- Our team will assess eligibility and provide Return Authorization if approved.
- Return items in original condition with all tags and packaging.
- For defective items: we will reimburse reasonable return shipping costs upon receipt of the shipping receipt (standard postal rates).
- Refund or replacement processed within 5–10 business days of receipt at our warehouse.
5.4 Exchanges (Discretionary)
- Exchanges are limited and at Amikyo’s discretion, subject to stock availability.
- Customer pays shipping to return the item to our warehouse.
- Exchange fees:
- Domestic (Australia/NZ): $15 AUD
- International: $30 AUD
- Price differences must be paid if exchanging for a higher‑value item.
- Exchanges are FINAL and cannot be returned or exchanged again.
- Return Authorization is required before sending any item back. Unauthorized returns will not be processed and items may not be returned to sender.
5.5 Exchange vs Return Shipping Costs
- Manufacturing Defects: Amikyo provides a return label where possible or reimburses reasonable return shipping; replacement items ship at no additional cost.
- Discretionary Exchanges: Customer pays all shipping costs (to us + exchange shipping fees). Reimbursement does not apply.
5.6 “Reasonable Shipping Costs” Guidance
“Reasonable” means standard postal rates from your location. Express/courier/premium methods will only be reimbursed up to standard postal rates (in cases where a return label cannot be generated for your location).
6) Product Information & Accuracy
6.1 Sizing & Measurements
Measurements may vary by 1–2 cm due to the handcrafted nature of our garments. Garments can be exchanged or returned for store credit for sizing issues, but may not be refunded.
6.2 Color Accuracy
Product colors may appear different on various devices and screens. We are not responsible for color variations due to monitor settings, lighting, or photography techniques.
6.3 Stock Availability
Items may sell out between adding to cart and completing purchase. Payment authorization does not guarantee product availability.
7) Pre‑Order Policy
- Estimated delivery dates are approximations only and not guaranteed.
- Pre‑orders cannot be cancelled once payment is processed.
- Delays due to manufacturing, shipping, customs, or force majeure do not entitle cancellation or compensation.
- Pre‑order payments are final and non‑refundable except for manufacturing defects upon delivery.
- Production timelines may extend beyond initial estimates due to factors beyond our control.
8) Fabric Care & Important Notices
Raw Denim & Specialty Fabrics
Premium Japanese fabrics (including raw denim and specialty‑dyed materials) may transfer color during initial wears. This is characteristic of authentic materials and not considered a defect.
Color Transfer Liability
Amikyo® is not responsible for damage to other clothing, accessories, or items caused by color transfer or bleeding from our products. Customers assume responsibility for potential color transfer.
Care Instructions
Detailed care instructions are provided with each garment. Damage from improper care, normal wear, or aging is not considered a manufacturing defect.
9) Promotional Offers & Discounts
- Discount codes cannot be combined unless explicitly stated.
- Promotions may be modified, restricted, or cancelled without prior notice.
- Sale items, promotional purchases, and items marked “Final Sale” are non‑returnable and non‑exchangeable.
- Discount code abuse or fraudulent use may result in order cancellation.
- Promotional prices are valid only during specified timeframes.
- We reserve the right to limit quantities during promotional periods.
10) Customer Service & Communication
Response Times
We aim to respond to all inquiries within 24–48 hours during business days. Response times may vary during high‑volume periods, holidays, or limited release events. Failure to respond within stated timeframes does not constitute agreement to customer requests.
Customer Service Limitations
Our team provides general product information and order assistance. We cannot provide specific styling advice, fit guarantees, or detailed fabric composition analysis beyond what is listed on product pages.
Account Security
Customers are responsible for maintaining account confidentiality and password security. Unauthorized purchases made through customer accounts are not Amikyo® responsibility.
11) Limited Collections & Seasonal Items
Collection Terms
Limited collections may not be reproduced or restocked. Discontinued items cannot be exchanged for newer releases or alternative products from different collections.
Seasonal Variations
Fabric weights, colors, and finishes may vary between production runs and seasons. These variations are intentional design elements, not defects.
12) Website Usage & Availability
Website Terms
- Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of our website content is prohibited.
- We may suspend or terminate website access at our discretion for policy violations.
- User‑generated content (reviews, photos, social media posts featuring our products) may be used by Amikyo® for marketing purposes.
- Website availability and functionality are not guaranteed.
Technical Issues
We are not responsible for website outages, technical failures, or inability to complete transactions due to system issues (including missed limited releases due to technical problems).
13) International Customers — Additional Terms
13.1 Currency & Payment
- Prices are displayed in your local currency for convenience.
- Currency conversions are based on current exchange rates, which may cause price differences across regions.
- International transaction fees, if applicable, are the customer’s responsibility.
- Local taxes, VAT, and duties are not included in displayed prices unless stated otherwise.
13.2 Customs Compliance
- International customers must comply with local import regulations.
- Falsifying customs declarations is prohibited and may result in order cancellation.
- Packages may be returned to sender due to customs non‑compliance at the customer’s expense.
13.3 Regional Restrictions
- We reserve the right to restrict shipping to certain regions.

13.4 Regional Consumer Protection Rights

We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time without prior notice. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. Orders placed before policy changes remain subject to the terms in effect at the time of purchase.
17) Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This policy is governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Victorian courts. International customers agree to Australian law governing their transactions.
